Larry Wallace Sr.

Mr. Wallace currently serves as the Enterprise Chief Administrative Officer for Central Health, the public entity in Travis County, Texas, that improves the health of the community by ensuring access to health care for those who need it most.  Mr. Wallace also serves as Executive Director for the Community Care Collaborative, the public/private partnership between Central Health and Seton Healthcare Family.  The Community Care Collaborative is working with the newly formed Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin to develop an innovative and cost-effective integrated delivery system for patient care, with a focus on low income and uninsured residents.  In 2011, Mr. Wallace led the launch of Central Health’s locally owned non-profit health plan Sendero Health Plans, an eight-county non-profit health plan to improve care access for those covered by publicly funded health insurance programs, and today sits on the Sendero Board of Directors.  In 2016, Mr. Wallace was elected to the Downtown Austin Alliance Board of Directors devoted to preserving and enhancing the value and vitality while shaping the future of downtown Austin.


Mr. Wallace uses his extensive experience managing integrated health care system operations.  He develops service delivery strategies to improve patient experiences and outcomes for organizations and community initiatives.  His work focuses on coordinating services between primary care, specialty care, behavioral care, hospital and social service providers.  Mr. Wallace is coordinating the East Side Health & Wellness Collaboration by bringing together leaders from the City of Austin, Travis County, CapMetro, Huston-Tillotson University, and local safety net health care providers to focus on improving access to health care for residents of East Travis County.  Previously, Mr. Wallace served as Vice President of Community Health at JPS Health Network in Fort Worth, where he led efforts to improve health in Tarrant County through increased access and appropriate utilization of community based health care. 

Military Service

Mr. Wallace also served in the United States Army and attended the U.S. Academy of Health Sciences receiving certifications as an Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialist.

Education

Mr. Wallace possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Dallas Baptist University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Amberton University. 

Nonprofit

Mr. Wallace is a UT- Austin Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs graduate-level mentor for its Executive Masters in Public Leadership Program; and an active member of the American College of Health Care Executives, National Forum Black Public Administrators, National Association of Health Services Executives, the Medical Group Management Association, and serves on the Budget Committee for St. James Missionary Baptist Church.
